Smitten by the bite of dawn,
Once in a great while - I yearn for my youth
And I frolic time and again - amidst the trees
by myself.
Stopping occasionaly, waiting for the evening to gobble me up.
But alas, such promises go unfullfilled,
and I resume the carefree activities, I had
previously abandoned.
Everything is left exactly as it was
It's just a matter of excepting it for what it is,
And even when matters go - without the necessary
plan of action,
We're allowed to see them through.
But in my gleefull play -
I am alone among the trees.
Hiding from one - as another whispers to it my position
And I release my grasp of it's reality,
Assuming the momentary safety of another hollow tree -
to be home.
In another instant - they've whispered and found me yet again,
And my childlike laughter echoes through the misty valleys
Causing my wide eyed amazement
As the sun breaks the barrier of mist -
Of fog and darkness,
and delivers me my day on a silver platter.
Only then do I give in
With no darkness left to hide me.
I take the day as it's served to me,
upon the platter,
And head for home.

another little piece of me died today.
no big deal, nothing new.
same thing has happened everyday since loving you.
just another flower withered in the garden of love.
in the beginning, the flowers,
daisys and roses and orchids galore,
a radiant rainbow filling the eye to blindness,
the flowers grew taller than towers
higher than god.
the roots were young, not yet dug deep
and the blossoms big and bright.
hope and love nurished them at first
made the stems sturdy and the leaves turn to the sun.
all too soon, tho, the first bloom wilted, too weak to draw strength from from your thin, rocky soil.
all too soon, more flowers, one each day, followed.
they could not live on water from bitter tears,
they could not survive in the cold empty bed they slept in.
they could not breathe the thin air of absence,
they could not feed on unkept and unsaid words.
now the field is almost empty, the ground cracked and dry.
the broken-hearted water will soon drown the remaining blossoms, and then the garden will be gone.
if only you could realize, if only you could feel that you could renew the garden,
reap the colourful harvest that was planted for you.
if you would only feed the flowers that remained, fill the dead soil with living love, treat the bitter water with the sweetner of care,
how fragrant life would be!
but if you will, you must hurry to renew the garden.
soon, o so soon, tho i may walk and talk and smile
the walk will be that of the automaton,
the speech the quiet of the grave
and the smile will have the darkness of death shining thru it.
yes, tho i exist, another little piece of me died today.
only you can make me live again.
